Grapes sourced from the Rogue Valley. Deep and expressive, opening with ripe blackberry dark plum, and blueberry compote. Layers of violet, black cherry, and cocoa powder follow, with subtle notes of vanilla bean, espresso, and warm spice. Full-bodied and velvety, with concentrated dark fruit flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and boysenberry, Silky tannins provide structure without harshness, while bright acidity keeps the wine lively and balanced. Hints of dark chocolate baking spice, and touch of smoky oak add depth and intrigue.
South African Variety
Steve Dunn traveled to South Africa to meet a good friend and exchange some wine. When Steve's good friend passed away, he sourced his friends vineyard and brought back cuttings of Pinotage. Steve graphed the cuttings to a vineyard in the Rogue Valley. Graphed to a Pinot Noir, this Pinotage is rare and consistent with light bodied wine with a full body experience. No longer produced and vineyard no longer existing, makes this a rare wine to come across.
